CJ and Adam came to meet us about one year out from their Swan Valley Wedding.  Their daughter Amayah accompanied them to their initial meeting in our studio and we sat on the floor playing kitchens and drawing on the chalkboard.

While we definitely gelled with CJ and Adam, the most important little person to gel with that day was Amayah.  After all, we were going to be the wedding photographer for her mum and dad and she had to know that we were going to be friends and help her look for fairies on the wedding day.

We were lucky enough to fit in a pre-wedding shoot a few weeks before the wedding to solidify even more of a relationship with Amayah before the big day.  If you have your own children at the Bridal party, and you would like to have a pre-wedding shoot, we always recommend this.  It’s a great chance for the little ones to know us better and to trust us on the day, and also a chance for them to see a real camera so they aren’t in shock when they pose for their first photo, and there isn’t an iPhone in their face.

The BIG DAY arrived.  CJ and Adam were married by Celebrant Andrew Pickering at the Vines Resort Swan Valley. It was a rainy day but we managed to capture a couple of our favourite spots surrounding this beautiful Swan Valley wedding venue, including the stunning bougainvillea and the path by the lake.  CJ provided the Bridal Party with clear umbrellas for photos which meant we could continue photographing until the sun was almost setting.  The shot of the day was definitely one of our final nighttime shots on the Vines golf course.  The Vines Resort is enough of a drive from the lights of Perth City that we can see stars in the sky at night if it’s not too cloudy.  We were lucky that this night, there was the perfect mix of both.
